Google swallows AdMob for $750 Million

admobGoogle jumped into the mobile advertising market by gobbling up Admob yesterday for $750 million. Admob is the quintessential silicon startup with increasing market share and healthy financials. Admob has setup a successful revenue stream for buying ads and monetizing traffic.

Google’s jump into mobile advertising is not a surprise as the company has already bet heavily on Android as the “iphone killer” and more importantly solidifying a strong conduit to the mobile search market. On a side note, AT&T has already sued Verzion for the recent wave of “there is a map for that ads” pushing the droid.. Google has positioned itself quite nicely with the addition of Admob to the Android arsenal. As usual it will be fun to watch the evolution.
