Do you get the Gist

Gist is a new company claiming to be (in their words):

An online service that helps you build stronger relationships. By connecting your inbox to the web you get business critical information about key people and companies. You’re also the first to know about the news and events that give a competitive edge.

In other words Gist will scrape the Internet for relevant information on a particular client or person of interest and aggregate news feeds, blog posts and information about that person. I personally live in my inbox everyday whether on my crackberry or at the office. Gist offers an interesting service to couple additional relevant information about my contacts.

The service could be construed as just being more informed for the tech savvy or a borderline spying service. It sure beats Google Alerts, but time will tell.
